This keeps me in verified boot mode and provides a stable, supported ChromeOS solution. The first (preferred option) is to make my Linux usage fit within the confines of my internal storage and use the r/Crostini environment with multiple small task-specific containers that I store externally and swap in and out of Crostini as needed. For me, unless I replace ChromeOS altogether, there are only two options. In my case its limitations are compounded by the firmware having no legacy boot payload, so I can't boot a live Linux USB. My situation is the same as yours: a 32 GB x86-64 Chromebook. Bottom line: your current firmware prevents you from booting Linux from USB on your MT8183 Chromebook and, unlike with x86-64 Chromebooks, there is no firmware modification available to make it possible (Mr Chromebox is for x86-64 only).

You would enter Ctrl-L at the Developer mode screen this provides a simple boot menu from which you choose to boot internal storage or USB. On x86 devices this capability is provided by a SeaBIOS payload. Although both architectures use coreboot firmware, ARM often lacks a legacy boot payload which is what you need to boot an alternative OS from USB. And I suspect you've been following instructions for x86-64 Chromebooks while not understanding that your device is ARM based. It would appear you still don't understand how ARM and x86-64 Chromebooks differ in their firmware and what this means for what you want to achieve. I remember you asking about this 3 months ago so I'm sorry if you didn't understand the responses back then and have since been banging your head on a wall and getting nowhere.
